JOB DESCRIPTION: Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher Monday - Friday, 8:00-2:30 QUALIFICATIONS: -High School Diploma -Experience with children in an organized setting. JOB GOALS: To provide a safe and secure environment for children to learn and play. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Supervise and insure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group. -Assist assigned teacher in any way possible, which may include, but is not necessarily limited to: -Implement the daily program as outlined by Kids In Action teachers.
- Decorate the room with appropriate bulletin boards using children's artwork and projects in accordance with the teacher's plans. -Assist in the preparation and clean-up of daily snacks. -Keep classroom and assigned housekeeping areas clean, neat and organized. Participate equally in the daily set-up and breakdown of the physical shared space.
- Assume temporary responsibilities of the teacher in his/her absence. -Be familiar with and follow all Kids In Action policies and procedures. -Report any accidents, suspected child abuse or neglect, special needs or problems of individual children to the Kids In Action Team Leader and or Director. -Attend all required staff meetings -Maintain open communication and good working relationship with co workers.
- Participate in classroom activities and maintain enthusiasm as an example for the children. -Be a team player: Maintain a flexible attitude to "help out" wherever a need might arise.-Participate in all-school activities including family night, orientations, staff meetings, planning meetings, Professional Development and workdays. -Complete CPR/First Aid Training, EEC Strong Start Professional - Development Webinars & 10 additional hours of Professional EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Director, Assistant Director and Team Leaders of Kids In Action.
