What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Custodian position at Hingham Public Schools?

Current Authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have authorization prior to the start of employment

Excellent written and oral communication

Flexible and patient

Self - motivated and able to complete the job assignments without direct supervision

Keep the interior and exterior of the building clean

Perform minor repairs as needed

Report the need for more extensive repairs

Keep restrooms, locker rooms, and showers extra clean

Scrub, mop, and polish floors

Dust and Polish furniture

Wash inside and outside of the windows

Clean walls, wood work and lavatories

Clean dry-erase boards

Empty trash and remove it from building to dumpsters

Pick up debris interior and exterior

For events, set up and clean up

Weed the exterior of buildings and grounds

Keep adequate supplies available

Other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor

Able to do the following:

Sitting

Standing

Lifting

Carrying (Up to 50 pounds)

Reaching

Squatting

Kneeling

Moving light furniture

Must be willing to learn to operate all equipment, including current technology

Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature and air quality

Interruptions of work are routine
