This full-time role is at Hinkley company headquarters in Avon Lake, OH. This position is NOT A FULLY REMOTE ROLE, it will require several days working ON-SITE each week.
Summary: The Product Data Associate is responsible for maintaining product data within the PLM and ERP systems. This role is a key member of the Data Strategy & Analytics team and drives Hinkley’s data quality process for our decorative and technical product. They are responsible for accurately and efficiently entering product information into our systems during product launches as well as maintaining ongoing product data post-launch through discontinuation. This position will work closely with the Product Development team and collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers to ensure all product data is up to date and accurate. This person is someone who can identify and prioritize opportunities and possesses a passion for data.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for data entry within systems during product launch for all business categories, ensuring various deadlines are met and the data is 100% accurate.
- Entering and updating product data information into various business systems. This includes (but not limited to):
- Creation of new products within database including finished good part number creation, replacement part number creation, and catalog and price sheet number creation.
- Entering and maintaining item descriptions and attributes for finished goods and replacement parts.
- General maintenance of product data and performs mass data scrubbing updates as needed.
- Processes data update requests submitted by internal teams through email or workflows, ensuring they are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Ensures the accuracy and consistent formatting of data received from internal teams and suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross departmental teams to drive the definition, prioritization, and implementation of data initiatives. Embeds a data-driven mindset across the organization (e.g. mentor and educate data users as needed on the company’s data processes and policies).
- Recommends, develops, and implements best in class data management practices.
- Develop effective relationships with business areas to oversee the delivery of data-related services to the organization.
- Act as an expert for product data, ensures the data catalog, data dictionary, and integrity rules for the company are accurate and up to date in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions around the impact of changes to data.
- Supports the maintenance of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
- Assists the commercialization team with the accuracy of the master product data files while meeting deadlines based on the internal working calendar.
- Supports various departments with data entry tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Level and Type of Education Required
- Associate's degree in business or a related field preferred. In lieu of a degree additional relevant work experience will be considered.
Related Work Experience Required
- 3 -5 years of work experience in a data intensive role (product data preferred).
Necessary Specialized Training, Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
- Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel). Intermediate Excel user.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Experience working in ERP (NetSuite preferred but not required) & PLM system.
- Familiarity with ERP, data entry and data scrubbing, etc.
- Must be a self-starter and have a sense of urgency to get things done in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work in a team environment with coworkers, suppliers or other departments.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing in English.
- Knowledge of home décor and/or lighting products and components preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at once while adhering to deadlines.
