Hinman Straub seeks an Administrative Assistant to join our Government Affairs Department.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time management, be a self-starter, and able to work within a collaborative environment. Knowledge of legislative process or previous direct work experience with the NYS Legislature, lobbying or law firm, or membership organization, preferred but not required. Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
Responsibilities include direct communication with clients and legislative offices, scheduling meetings, maintaining meeting schedules, assisting with client lobby days, database entry and maintenance, time recording and billing, direct support for government affairs staff, and other general administrative duties as assigned. Familiarity and competency with the Microsoft Office suite and web-based meeting platforms. Associate degree or higher, or at least 2 years related experience and/or training. This is a full-time, in-person position, located in downtown Albany.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
