Job Summary :

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will lead our Marketing Team to conceptualize and deliver on a strategy that accelerates growth, builds brand equity, and fosters a deep connection with our target audience. The CMO must be a brand evangelist with strength in both data-driven decision making and creative.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership :

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with Hippeas’ vision and growth objectives.
  • Oversee annual marketing planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement.
  • Align Board of Directors and Hippeas leadership team around key marketing decisions related to brand voice, long-term marketing strategy, and resource allocation.

Brand Development :

  • Elevate and refine the brand’s positioning, voice, and messaging to stand out in a competitive CPG market.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation across all touchpoints, including packaging, digital channels, and retail presence.
  • Consumer Insights & Data :

  • Leverage data-driven insights to understand consumer behavior, preferences, and trends.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify growth opportunities and inform product innovation.
  • Team Leadership :

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability within the department.
  • Manage third-party agencies to ensure effective collaboration and results.
  • Digital Marketing & E-Commerce :

  • Drive the company’s digital marketing strategy, including SEO / SEM, social media, content marketing, and email campaigns.
  • Optimize the e-commerce experience to enhance customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Partnerships & Collaborations :

  • Develop strategic partnerships with influencers, agencies, and other brands to amplify reach and engagement.
  • Oversee PR and communication strategies to ensure positive brand reputation.
  • Oversee experiential and digital activations that promote brand awareness and drive excitement around Hippeas products.
  • Sales Enablement :

  • Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing initiatives with sales goals.
  • Develop tools, content, and resources to support the sales team in engaging and converting customers effectively across club, grocery, convenience, specialty, and other retail channels.
  • Provide training and insights to the sales team on market trends, product positioning, and competitive landscape.
  • Shopper Marketing :

  • Design and implement strategies to influence consumer purchasing decisions at the point of sale.
  • Develop in-store marketing initiatives such as point-of-purchase displays, product demonstrations, and promotions.
  • Partner with retailers to create tailored campaigns and optimize shelf placement.
  • Leverage digital tools to integrate online and offline shopping experiences.
  • Performance Metrics :

  • Define and monitor KPIs for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Report on ROI, growth metrics, and consumer engagement to the executive team and stakeholders.
  • Some travel required

    Qualifications & Attributes :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in marketing leadership roles, ideally in snacks or natural foods.
  • Proven track record of driving brand growth and revenue in a competitive market.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, e-commerce, and data analytics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and creativity.
  • This role also includes a bonus of up to 50% of the annual salary as well as generous equity potential.
