What are the responsibilities and job description for the FOH - Shift Leader position at Hiraya?
Reports to General Manager/Chef. Oversees operations, managing cash, resolving conflicts, directs FOH staff ensuring shift runs smoothly and effectively. Ensuring that every guest leaves satisfied. Monitors stock and inventory of café/restaurant supplies. Makes sure shift is staffed accordingly in accordance to business level projections.
Responsibilities
Provide direction and feedback to staff during shifts
Schedule employee shifts and assign duties
Manage time-off requests and handle last-minute absences
Train and coach employees
Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs
Ensure health and safety standards are followed
Address guest and employee complaints and concerns
Resolve conflicts between staff
Foster and maintain a positive work environment
When closing ensure facility is locked and secured.
Ability to answer all questions regarding menu items and standard of procedures by employees/ guests
Skills and Requirements
At least 2 Years managerial/supervisory role in Hospitality industry, former server/barista preferred.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Excellent Customer Service Skills and Knowledge
Excellent Communication Skills
Ability to maintain positive work environment amongst staff.
ServSafe Certificaiton
Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced environment
Critical problem solving
Ability to stand for long periods
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
