What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Hiraya?
Prepares and cooks food items in accordance with company standards and menu. Line Cooks are expected to follow detailed instructions in cooking and consistently execute well-prepared food items. Successful line cooks can move efficiently in the kitchen and multi-task effectively.
Responsibilities
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment (mis en place)
Prepare ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting veggies/meat etc.)
Cook food w/ various tools and equipment
Ensure great presentation
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized environment in the kitchen
Ensure food and items are stored safely and properly according to food handling and safety laws
Monitor stock and inventory
Skills and Requirements
At least 1 Year Experience as line cook in restaurant/café. (culinary training is a plus)
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Knowledge of various cooking procedures including but not limited to: (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
Excellent Communication Skills
Knowledge of ServSafe/ food handling procedures
