Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Thomson Reuters, and SurePayroll

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead an established office of 10 accounting and tax professionals. The ideal candidate will oversee accounting and tax teams, primarily serving businesses, non-profits, and government agencies in the Galveston and Houston areas.
Overview:
- Management & Leadership: Provide strategic direction to the accounting team, ensuring efficient service delivery, financial planning, budgeting, and risk management.
- Tax Services Management: Oversee the tax services department, review tax returns, ensure compliance, and develop tax strategies to meet client needs.
- Business Development: Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and forming strategic partnerships.
- Accounting Oversight: Ensure timely completion of financial statements and tax returns, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure GAAP compliance.
You will collaborate closely with senior management and transition into a principal role as the current principal scales back.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and research.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve revenue growth objectives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Provide tax and accounting guidance and support to the team.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Oversees general ledger functions to assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP
