Position Description:
Our fast growing manufacturing client is seeking purchasing manager will be responsible for leading and managing their procurement function and related processes for raw materials and components necessary for production. This includes
developing and implementing procurement strategies, vendor management, and ensuring timely
delivery of materials.
Essential responsibilities:
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery for
all raw materials and components.
• Lead the procurement process from identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and
ensuring timely delivery of materials.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and
favorable terms.
• Continuously evaluate and monitor supplier performance to identify opportunities for
improvement and cost savings.
• Work closely with production, planning, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability
of materials to meet production schedules.
• Monitor market trends and stay up to date on new developments and innovations in
procurement processes and technologies.
• Manage a team of procurement professionals and provide guidance and direction as
needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Develop and maintain performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of procurement
processes.
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with inventory management and optimization.
• Excellent project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage and develop a team.
• Strong financial acumen and experience with forecasts.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry required (i.e. medical device manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, consumer products and goods, etc.).
Physical Requirements:
• Sitting or standing at a desk in an office environment.
• Occasional lifting up to 20lbs.
• May be exposed to a dusty environment and/or considerable noise.
