Maintenance Mechanic - Veteran Wanted
Requirements:
- Military veteran preferred, bringing valuable skills, discipline, and dedication to the role.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Four (4) years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in using a range of common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, as well as precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Understanding of physical principles, laws, and their application to fluid, material, mechanical, electrical, structures, and processes.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine maintenance needs.
- Repair machines or systems using the necessary tools.
- Ability to determine causes of operating errors and take appropriate actions.
- Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure proper machine functioning.
- Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
- Determine the required tools and equipment for a job.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine or vehicle controls to precise positions.
- Physical flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body, arms, and/or legs.
- Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to specific rules.
- Capable of reading wiring schematics and sketching electrical circuit components and their wiring.
- Must have initial RCRA training, annual RCRA refresher training, and on-the-job training specific to the assigned job.
Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operations.
- Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during downtime.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make necessary repairs.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools, power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines continue to run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
- Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment using voltmeters and other testing devices to diagnose malfunctions.
- Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
- Reassemble equipment after inspection, testing, or repairs.
- Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
- Perform maintenance tasks from work orders, preventative work orders (PMs), and written/verbal instructions.
- Utilize basic mechanical knowledge to repair other mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Operate forklifts and aerial lifts.
