Senior Financial Analyst

Position Overview:

Participate in the comprehensive annual and forecast planning activities for specific cost control areas. Conduct monthly evaluations comparing actual outcomes with forecasts and manage routine reporting duties for the operations department. The complexity of tasks detailed hereunder will depend on the level of expertise of the incumbent. All responsibilities must be executed while adhering to pertinent legal and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in the development of yearly budgets and forecasts for designated sectors, which includes collaboration with operations staff to compile and input budget data into our financial systems.
• Conduct monthly financial variances analysis for designated cost centers and their respective parent groups, engaging with operational contacts to clarify and address any discrepancies.
• Provide support to Management in designated areas with any inquiries throughout the budget cycle and year, including any required specialized analyses as sanctioned by the department leadership.
• Facilitate the compilation and submission of necessary documentation for monthly financial entries and ensure timely transfer to the accounting department.
• Generate monthly profitability reports for specific business segments, following the schedule set by the financial planning department.
• Offer support to the senior systems analyst in financial planning regarding issues and developments with our financial planning tools and databases.
• Handle special projects, perform ad hoc analyses, and participate in relevant meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with OLAP databases or financial management software such as Hyperion or PeopleSoft.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and interact effectively with operational staff.
• Skilled in documenting processes and analytical findings succinctly and clearly.
• Strong communication abilities, both orally and in writing.
• Exceptional financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
