Location: Atlanta, GA
Reports To: Sr Director of Architecture

About the Role:
We are seeking a contract Tech Delivery Manager with strong technical delivery experience in web (Next.js) and API (NestJS) platforms to support the rollout and iteration of digital experiences for a multi-brand quick-serve restaurant platform. This role will focus on driving execution of technical solutions related to menu updates, FreedomPay configuration, and ongoing feature enhancements across web and API services.
The ideal candidate has strong experience working with offshore development teams, can bridge the gap between operational teams (like POS admins) and engineering, and is delivery-focused with a deep understanding of how to manage scope, blockers, and timelines in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of web (Next.js) and API (NestJS) features, updates, and integrations with a focus on quality and velocity.
Act as a liaison between POS administrators and engineering to coordinate menu updates and ensure accurate data propagation.
Manage the end-to-end FreedomPay configuration, coordinating with external vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless integration.
Work day-to-day with offshore engineering teams, running standups, tracking sprints, and ensuring clear alignment on priorities and deliverables.
Translate operational and business needs into clear, scoped requirements and user stories.
Collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure test coverage, CI/CD alignment, and smooth deployment.
Track and communicate delivery progress, proactively managing risks and issues.
Qualifications:
4 years of experience in technical delivery, product ownership, or program management in a web/API-focused role.
Strong working knowledge of Next.js and NestJS, with an understanding of the tech stack and development lifecycle.
Demonstrated experience leading offshore teams and working effectively across time zones.
Familiarity with POS workflows, menu data, and restaurant tech ecosystems is a plus.
Experience with FreedomPay or other payment gateway integrations is highly preferred.
Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and agile delivery frameworks.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience working with integrations like Olo, Punchh, or Yext.
Background in QSR, hospitality, or similar fast-paced B2C domains.
Previous technical experience as an engineer is a plus.
Notes from Req Call:
This person will be coordinating with an offshore development team in India, consisting of about 15-20 developers and a lead. The team works until 12pm EST, providing overlap for collaboration, so no off-hours work is required except during quarterly deployments. Knowledge of Tamil is a plus but not a requirement.
Key qualifications include:
- A background in development, particularly with Node.js. Experience with Next.js or Nest.js is highly preferred, but candidates must be able to communicate effectively about these technologies, even if they don't have hands-on experience.
- Strong integration experience is essential, as this role involves integrating 5 systems together. The candidate must understand the complexities of integrating multiple systems.
- Experience with POS systems (point-of-sale) and restaurant tech is highly desired.
- The candidate should be familiar with offshore teams, especially if they ve worked with teams in India, and be able to facilitate communication across time zones.
- This role does not involve people management. The focus is on project coordination, keeping track of work, and providing updates (daily and weekly reports). They will work with a single person from the SRE team for deployments.
- The ideal candidate should be comfortable in technical discussions, distinguishing themselves from project managers.
The position requires onsite work for the first 2-3 weeks (3 days/week), with the possibility of working remotely afterward (Tues-Thurs onsite after initial onboarding).
