A large, reputable medical office in Fresno is seeking a full-time Referral Coordinator to join their dedicated team. The Referral Coordinator will play a vital role in patient care by coordinating and scheduling specialist appointments, managing prior authorizations, and serving as a liaison between patients, providers, and specialists.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with insurance processes is a plus
- Proficiency in word processing and general computer skills

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments with specialists; fax referral details for scheduling as needed
- Ensure that all relevant patient information is sent to specialists ahead of appointments
- Communicate appointment details to patients, including time, location, and instructions
- Contact insurance companies to confirm benefits and secure any required authorizations
- Maintain updated lists of specialists, particularly for HMO patients
- Record all referral information accurately in patient records and ensure confidentiality
- Stay informed about insurance benefit changes and procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the team
