Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Batch Plant Operator.
Overview :
This position reports to the Production and Delivery Coordinator and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the batching operation
Essential Functions :
Efficiently operates batching facilities and maintains maximum production levelsOperates computer controlled batching system that transfers product from storage bins through weigh bins and into ready-mix trucksReads and interpret computer orders to control mix design and to set appropriate slumpUses computer to weigh product being transferred to each truckVisually monitors control boards and computer screensVisually inspect loading trucks to assure proper positioning for delivery of productVisually inspect concrete on as needed basisRecords all daily record keeping and paperwork as requiredMaintains material inventories and orders materials as neededInspects silo, weigh hoppers and plant and cleans hoppers as neededDiagnose and assists in trouble-shooting when process is interruptedDemonstrates good understanding of lockout / tagout procedure required during certain proceduresAssists with cleanup as neededAssist in training of co-workers as neededMaintain an excellent personal safety record and a clean / safe work environmentPerforms other duties as requiredRequired Education and experience
Proficient in reading, writing, math and operational logicHave extensive product and equipment knowledgeExcellent communication skillsExcellent personal safety recordSelf-starter with a very high standard of expectation of himself / herself and those with who he / she worksPositive attitude toward other employees and supervisorsExcellent work ethic - punctuality, accuracy, and attendanceWork Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 75 pounds.Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m. OT will be required as needed. This position regularly requires weekend work.Travel
