Overview
Position OverviewThe Direct Care Worker is responsible for the daily direct care and supervision of children in residence suffering from childhood trauma with resulting behavioral health issues.The Residential Treatment Specialist ensures basic life, educational and emotional needs are provided.
The Direct Care personnel also serves as a model and mentor for the residents, demonstrating appropriate social and relationship building skills using a trauma informed care model called Sanctuary using the 7 Commitments of the Sanctuary Model -open communication, democracy, non-violence, social learning, social responsibility, growth and change.
Compensation range $17-$19/hour
Location: Burlington, KY
Full Time, Part Time or Weekends4 Days On/ 3 Days Off Schedules for 3rd shift may be available

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTo While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, squat, and hold objects or carry.o The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and sometimes move and/or lift up to 100 pounds in order to Utilize Safe Crisis Management Techniques.o Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.o The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.o The environment consists of indoor and outdoor activities with different temperatures.o Cleaning and using cleaning materials, including chemicals are a demand of this position.
