We are looking for a Process Engineer with focus on Industrial Water and Wastewater Engineering to join our client's Process Design team in Austin, TX.
The process design team strives to create the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, producing cutting-edge detailed designs of chemical and utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing processes. As a Wastewater Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in our efforts to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.
What You’ll Do
- Apply engineering fundamentals and a broad set of process engineering tools to solve technical problems and create detailed designs for industrial water and wastewater facility as well as associated chemical storage, lift stations, and other support facilities.
- Provide process engineering support to operations to help resolve process bottlenecks and other long- standing issues
- Provide technical expertise to the engineering / design team and other groups as a subject matter expect (SME).
- Lead front-end and detailed process designs including the following deliverables
o Scope development and Basis of Design document development
o PFDs, P&IDs, and 3D pipe design development, including pressure drop analysis, Aspen simulation where required, pressure relief valve calculations, and Pipe-Flo modeling
o Develop and maintain Sequence of Operations / Controls Narrative documents
Participate in field construction and commissioning activities by serving as the point of contact for technical questions and real-time issue resolutionReview process design work performed by others on the Process Team to ensure every design maintains the highest level of quality, including P&ID’s, plan drawings, and single line iso’s, review and / or update master piping and equipment specificationsWhat You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental EngineeringMinimum 3 years’ experience in municipal or industrial water / wastewater system design.5 years’ experience or more is preferred.Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas is preferred but not requiredAbility to participate in reactive chemical process hazard evaluations and HAZOP reviews of PSM- covered and other hazardous chemical systemWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, and Pipe-Flo. Design engineers are not required to use Revit, but Revit experience is a plusAbility to adapt, multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with evolving changes in design requirementsA positive, “do the impossible” attitude and ability to communicate with peers and stakeholders at all levels including piping designers, stress engineers, other engineering disciplines, customers, and executivesProcess design experience in at least one of following treatment processes : Coagulation / flocculation,lime softening, ultrafiltration, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, brine concentrator, crystallizer, solids handling (centrifuge, belt filter press, or frame filter press) for either municipal or industrial applications.
