Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Advanced Manufacturing Trainer to lead the implementation of automated workflows and modern manufacturing practices. This role focuses on delivering hands-on, virtual, and classroom training to support industry professionals in enhancing their technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation, robotics, and manufacturing technologies, along with a passion for workforce development and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Instruction:
- Deliver engaging in-person and virtual training on automation and manufacturing technologies.
- Develop training materials, lesson plans, and instructional content tailored to industry needs.
- Conduct training on system programming, operation, and maintenance of automated production equipment.
- Assess training effectiveness and provide recommendations for curriculum improvements.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in training labs and classrooms.
Curriculum Development & Process Training:
- Design hands-on exercises, real-world case studies, and practical demonstrations to enhance technical learning.
- Train manufacturing professionals on digital design, model-based workflows, and automated inspection techniques.
- Provide instruction on integrating robotics, PLCs, and automation into production processes.
- Teach courses on manufacturing automation in areas such as metal material removal, additive manufacturing, plastics forming, and electro-mechanical assembly.
- Develop criteria for evaluating and certifying manufacturing personnel in automation and robotics applications.
Process & System Integration:
- Train on the integration of automated manufacturing technologies into existing production environments.
- Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing workflows for robotics, PLCs, and digital manufacturing processes.
- Work with industry partners to refine best practices in smart manufacturing, automation, and process control.
Required Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 4 years of hands-on experience in an automated manufacturing environment as a technician, operator, engineer, or programmer.
- 4 years working with robotics programming, automation hardware (including robotic arms such as ABB or UR), and PLC programming (Siemens or Rockwell preferred).
- 2 years in a teaching, instructional, or technical training role within manufacturing or automation.
- 2 years of experience developing technical course content and training materials.
- Experience with troubleshooting quality issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions in manufacturing.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of automation, robotics, and smart manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical software applications.
- Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced training environment.
Requirements:
- Must meet ITAR citizenship requirements.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- On-site work required Monday through Friday, with occasional early mornings or evenings.
- Travel to various industry locations, including manufacturing facilities and office settings.
- Travel: 0-20% regionally and nationally, depending on contracts
- Involves prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and computer use; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
