Job Description
EXPERIENCED commercial door and hardware installers.
We install all wood and hollow metal doors along with all of the scheduled hardware. MUST have experience with roller painting, installation of closures, panic pars, kick plates and door locksets for commercial applications; additionally, experience in construction, a reliable mode of transportation, good work ethic, no history of felonies on background check / analysis, and willingness to drive to the job sites (as needed) is needed. Company-provided vehicle could be possible for experienced technicians, once hired on staff, for use from site-to-shop facility.
Overview of Work
Assist in the unloading, distribution, and staging of solid wood doors, hollow metal doors and door hardware in the facility and on project site; Organize, take inventory for department to relay to inventory coordinator, and maintain hardware; Installation of doors and hardware; Ability to complete punch work and communicate completion with supervisor and / or project manager.
Job Requirements
Must have a positive work ethic, a problem-solving mentality and a 'can-do' attitude
Applicant must be mechanically inclined with carpentry skills and be proficient with hand and power tools
The ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 6 : 00-4 : 30pm (Overtime possible)
Must have good organizational skills
Must have good communication skills
Must be able to walk and stand on level and / or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow / knee and reach above / below shoulders.
May be required to lift up to 80 pounds and carry for short distances.
Industry experience is preferred and carpentry skills are required.
Must be able to study / understand blueprints and schematic diagrams to identify and install both commercial doors along with their hardware.
Be precise with a tape measure (to the 1 / 8”) for accurate measurements.
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within construction field.
Understands and respects finish work by us and other trades.
Understands layout, drilling, anchoring, installation and adjusting doors and hardware.
Understands and uses power tools safely.
Understands plans and drawings commonly used in new construction.
Has the ability to work in cold and hot weather.
May need to travel to remote locations or work out of town.
