Seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist in the Tulsa Metro area with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital / clinical setting. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, extensive knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency in medical insurance billing and excellent customer service abilities. You will work closely with medical staff, 3rd party entities and patients to ensure timely collection in a professional manner.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough research and follow-up on accounts with outstanding claims.
- Contact patients and / or third-party payers as necessary.
- Prepare appeals for claims requiring reconsideration for appropriate or additional payment.
- Act as liaison between Patient Accounts and physician offices, insurance carriers, clinical areas and other third-party payers
- Document all activity taken in each patient's account.
- Reconciles payments received and posted daily with financial accounting
- Performs assigned billing, eligibility, and account follow-up activities and related duties as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all compliance regulations.
