What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Piping Estimator position at Hired by Matrix?
A college degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred, but not required for candidates with the right background and practical experience.
Ability to interpret and understand construction drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with engineering design documents isometrics) and specifications.
Basic knowledge of industries such as power, oil and gas, food / beverage / agriculture, and / or water.
Experience with EPC or design / build projects is a plus.
P scheduling knowledge is an advantage.
Proficiency in estimating software In-Eight Estimate, Hard Dollar, Accubid, etc.).
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
Communicate and clarify project scopes to subcontractors and suppliers for accurate pricing.
Lead mechanical and piping estimates, and collaborate with onsite field teams to discuss strategies.
Develop and prepare a construction execution plan, including related indirect costs.
Support field teams with change orders and help organize project documentation.
Participate in site visits and attend job preconstruction meetings, including occasional overnight travel.
Join weekly estimating meetings.
Lead and participate in internal and executive review meetings.
Facilitate project turnover meetings with operations teams.
