Job Title: Experienced Paralegal
We are seeking an experienced paralegal to join our Homeless Legal Rights Unit. The paralegal will assist attorneys and take primary responsibility for case files, acting with a substantial degree of independence and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing and drafting legal documents
- Proficient technology use
- Tracking deadlines
- Overseeing administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and answering calls
- Preparing and maintaining comprehensive spreadsheets
- Performing legal research using online/electronic databases
- Serving low-income communities, preferred but not required
- Awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the populations we serve
- Prioritizing work activities
- Accepting directions from Supervising Attorney and other team members
- Maintaining a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
- Dependable work record, including prompt and regular availability
- Good written and communication skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Entry-level, will train
- Certification in paralegal studies is a plus
- Ability to speak more than one language is a plus
Benefits:
This exempt, full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $44,000 to $50,000, commensurate with experience. The client provides a generous benefits package, including health, vision, dental, and life insurance (for the employee), retirement, 13 paid holidays, and generous annual and sick leave allotments starting at 15 days of vacation and 12 days of sick leave per year, promoting a good work-life balance.
