Are you a logistics expert with a passion for international shipping and a knack for problem-solving? We’re looking for a Bilingual Ocean Logistics Consultant to join our dynamic team!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ocean Logistics:
- Request and manage ocean freight quotes.
- Track containers using booking numbers, container numbers, and ship names.
- Generate and review Bills of Lading.
- Verify that rates billed align with quoted rates.
Inland Logistics:
- Track shipments via website or phone.
- Schedule pick-ups and provide follow-ups as necessary.
- Obtain and compare inland freight rates.
- Request cost information from suppliers via email or online platforms.
Order Management:
- Enter sales orders and create purchase orders.
- Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely arrival.
- Schedule pick-ups with inland carriers and obtain warehouse documents.
- Coordinate ocean or air shipments and send all necessary shipment information.
Documentation:
- Prepare and send required customer documentation, including:
- Invoices
- Packing lists
- Shipper's Letter of Instruction (SLI)
- Bill of Lading drafts
- Safety Data Sheets
- Certificates of Origin/Analysis (if required)
- Send documentation to customers via email.

- Acute attention to detail and common sense.
- Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and prioritization.
- Excellent verbal communication and phone skills.
- Comfortable contacting customers, suppliers, and logistics providers by phone.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Education and Experience:
- HAZMAT certification is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese is a plus.
