We are seeking a versatile and highly motivated Tax Accountant & Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our clients by providing comprehensive accounting and tax services.
In this role, you will:
- Tax Expertise: Prepare and file individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
- Research and apply current tax regulations to ensure compliance.
- Respond to client inquiries and resolve tax-related issues.
- Bookkeeping Mastery: Manage the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account receivable/payable.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for clients.
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Client Focus: Build strong relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Advise clients on accounting procedures, tax savings opportunities, and business improvements.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Required: Associate's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or tax preparation.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Preferred: CPA or EA designation (preferred but not required).
- Skills: Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility: Must have a flexible schedule during tax season (February 1st - April 15th), including the ability to work half days on Saturdays when needed.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
