We are seeking a passionate and experienced Home Health Aide (HHA) Instructor to join our dynamic team in Dallas. The ideal candidate will hold an Advanced Vocational Nurse (AVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license and have a strong commitment to educating and training the next generation of home health aides. As an HHA Instructor, you will play a key role in preparing students to provide high-quality, compassionate care to individuals in their homes, ensuring they meet state and federal requirements and excel in the practical aspects of home health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct and Train: Teach theoretical and practical courses related to home health care, including patient safety, personal care, hygiene, mobility assistance, nutrition, and infection control.
- Prepare Curriculum: Develop, update, and review training materials and curriculum to ensure they are current, relevant, and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Evaluate Student Performance: Assess students through written exams, skills demonstrations, and clinical practice evaluations to ensure they meet competency standards.
- Provide Support and Guidance: Offer ongoing support to students, answering questions, providing feedback, and offering advice to help them succeed in their coursework and practical skills.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work with other instructors, administrative staff, and clinical supervisors to ensure the training program meets accreditation standards and provides a positive learning experience.
- Ensure Compliance: Stay up-to-date with regulatory standards and ensure that all training programs meet the latest state and federal requirements for home health aides.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Valid Advanced Vocational Nurse (AVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in home health care or a related healthcare setting. Previous teaching or instructional experience preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of home health aide duties, state and federal regulations, and healthcare industry standards.
- Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to teach, motivate, and inspire students.
- Education: Associate's degree or higher in Nursing or related field required. Certification in Nursing Education is a plus.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required. HHA Instructor certification preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified time.
