Supporting SEC Reporting to strengthen its financial reporting processes and ensure accurate accounting that supports SEC filings and regulatory compliance.
Job Summary
The Senior Accountant – Supporting SEC Reporting will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data that feeds into SEC filings. This role involves overseeing the preparation of key accounting schedules, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address complex accounting matters. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will also support external audits, assist with the implementation of new accounting standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal controls over financial reporting.
The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting expertise, a proactive mindset for process improvement, and experience supporting public company financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting for SEC Reporting:
- Reconcile and analyze key accounts to ensure proper classification and compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
Technical Accounting:
- Research and document complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, and other technical topics.
- Collaborate with external auditors to address technical questions and support audits of financial statements.
Financial Close and Reporting Process:
- Participate in the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast to provide insights to management.
- Maintain a detailed close calendar to ensure timely submission of deliverables for SEC reporting deadlines.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
- Assist in documenting and testing key financial reporting controls to ensure compliance.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support:
- Work with the SEC reporting team to identify and address gaps in financial reporting processes.
- Partner with the legal, investor relations, and tax teams to ensure alignment on financial data and disclosures.
Process Improvement and System Optimization:
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Leverage ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) to optimize data flow and reporting capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years supporting SEC reporting or working in a public company environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Big Four or large regional public accounting firm experience.
- Experience with public company internal controls and SOX compliance.
- Knowledge of XBRL tagging and reporting processes.

Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
