Role Overview
As a Lead Automation Engineer at HireMinds, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects related to automated manufacturing and inspection equipment.
You will be responsible for building and leading a team of engineers to develop these systems, as well as managing the procurement of new equipment and authoring SOPs.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team of engineers to prototype and develop automated manufacturing and inspection equipment to increase throughput and scale of intradermal patch manufacturing.
- Develop robust and scalable tools, fixtures, and process aids to improve quality and throughput of manufacturing operations.
- Manage development of imaging systems and machine vision programs for in-process and finished product inspections.
- Procure new equipment by interfacing with vendors, developing engineering specifications, and drafting qualification protocols.
- Author equipment operation and maintenance SOPs within the Quality System.
- Manage, train, supervise, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' industry experience in medical device or pharmaceutical environments, BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or other relevant engineering discipline.
- Proven ability to effectively manage a small team of junior engineers; project and time management skills, and ability to efficiently achieve goals within timelines.
- Prior experience developing automated systems with machine vision, PLCs, and robotics is required.
- Proficient with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software, ATS SmartVision, Cognex VisionPro, or other machine vision software.
- Knowledge of GxP requirements and experience working within a medical device or pharmaceutical quality system.
