We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Surgical Services Director to oversee and lead Surgical Services Department for this 140 Bed Short-term acute care facility. This position requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care while managing a skilled team including RNs, CSTs, Anesthesia Technicians, CNAs, and Clerical Staff. Our state-of-the-art Operating Room includes seven surgical suites equipped with cutting-edge technology such as the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution and the da Vinci Xi Surgical System.

Clinical Director Surgical Services Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and other executive leaders to establish and implement departmental objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure the effective and efficient utilization of resources, including personnel, equipment, and facilities.
- Oversee departmental functions, including patient care, sterile processing, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Regularly evaluate compliance with policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices. Conduct root cause analyses and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Medical Staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Provide professional development opportunities for team members and ensure comprehensive orientation and training programs.
- Manage inventory, equipment, and supply chain initiatives in collaboration with Supply Chain Management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including TJC, CMS, and OSHA requirements.
- Lead monthly departmental meetings, maintain accurate records, and report key performance metrics to leadership.
- Promote effective communication across intra- and interdepartmental teams and contribute to hospital-wide initiatives.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Idaho nursing license or licensure eligibility.
- Three to four years of experience in Surgical Services.
- Three years’ Surgical Service management experience.
- AORN certification or eligibility.
- BLS certification (required on the first day or assigned by the Learning Center).
- Knowledge of sterile processing, sterilization, and decontamination procedures.
