Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Case Management department, including discharge planning, utilization review, and social work.
- Drive performance improvements across clinical services with a focus on reducing Length of Stay (LOS).
- Collaborate with executive leadership, physicians, and department managers to implement best practices in care management.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies.
- Oversee and improve the utilization review process and patient transitions across the care continuum.
- Participate in strategic planning and system-wide performance improvement initiatives.
- Educate and mentor staff and physicians on case management standards and payer requirements.
- Analyze care trends and recommend cost-saving and revenue-enhancing initiatives.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
- BLS Certification
- CCM Certification (or ability to obtain within the first year of employment)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in acute care or care coordination
- Strong understanding of Medicare/Medicaid admission and review requirements
- Ability to lead, communicate, and make decisions in a high-pressure environment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field
- 3 years of management experience
- ACM/ACM-SW certification preferred
- Familiarity with InterQual criteria and government billing regulations
- Initial virtual interview with CFO and divisional management
- On-site panel interview with facility executive leadership, department heads, and potential direct reports
