Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary

We are looking for an individual to join our client’s team as a Radiologic Technologist with Mammography experience. You will provide radiological services to patients as a diagnostic modality.

Job Description

• Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires.
• Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality, completeness for the type of test ordered.
• Assists physicians during procedures as necessary.
• Performs diagnostic and some special procedure medical radiographic images utilizing radiologic assistance
• Performs equipment Quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders supply.
• Processes film/images or prints CD's if needed.
• Performs routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking-in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, or other related duties as needed.
• Shows radiologist images and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communications if necessary (wet readings).
• May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.
• Knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial needs of different patient populations.
• Knowledge of QC/QA program as mandated by MQSA/FDA guidelines
• Participates in QA projects and program meetings as assigned.
• Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to BioMed or the supervisor.
• Maintains current registry certification, licensure, and education requirements
• Assists and directs patients in preparation of examination (change into gowns and getting patient on /off examination tables).
• Applies knowledge of Universal Precautions to minimize exposure to/spread of infectious organisms
• Complies with Infection Control policies and procedures, fire and medical emergency protocols, administrative policies governing patient abuse, patient rights, and confidentiality of information (HIPAA).
• Performs other related duties as required, and attends staff meetings and in-services.

Skills Required

• Ability to do both x-ray and mammography is preferred
• Continued experience 200 cases in the last 2 years (bare min.)
• Initial training in tomography

Education/Training/Certifications

• A valid license as a radiologic technologist issued by the NYSDOH and post-primary certification in mammography issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• BLS preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Shift Time: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Pay Rate

• Up to $62.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications
