What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Rigger position at HireQuest Direct?
HireQuest Direct is seeking a Certified Rigger to join our team. As a Rigger, you will be responsible for safely securing, lifting, and maneuvering heavy loads using cranes. Your role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all crane activities. Note: This position is full time and will last for the duration of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
- Rig and secure loads for crane operations, ensuring proper balance and safety
- Direct crane operators using hand signals and/or radios to guide precise lifts
- Inspect and maintain rigging equipment (slings, hooks, shackles, etc.) to ensure safety and compliance
- Collaborate with crane operators and other construction team members to execute lifts according to the site plan
- Review and interpret load charts, lifting plans, and construction blueprints
- Ensure that all lifts comply with OSHA and other safety regulations
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment around crane operations
- Assist with the setup and teardown of crane equipment as needed
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately
Qualifications:
- Certified Rigger with a valid NCCCO (or equivalent) certification-
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a rigger on construction sites, specifically with cranes
- Strong understanding of rigging techniques, crane operations, and safety protocolsAbility to communicate effectively with crane operators, supervisors, and other crew members
- Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions and at heights
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work for extended periods
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail
Salary: $25/hr
Shifts: 1st shift (8-10 hours/day)
