Job Summary
In this fast-paced environment, the Metrology Specialist will oversee and manage all aspects of metrology for the company sites. The role requires providing technical leadership, project management, and expertise in metrology projects to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in instrument calibration and performance.
Job Description
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the metrology program at both new and existing sites, ensuring high standards of metrology practices are met.
- Lead the implementation of instrument qualifications and business continuity plan qualifications.
- Write whitepapers and prepare customer-facing documentation for metrology studies and analysis.
- Provide data to Quality Assurance for processing, review, and action as needed.
- Oversee the long-term stability of equipment, ensuring timely calibration and performance verifications.
- Manage and perform various metrology studies, including instrument detection limit, method detection limit, accuracy, linearity, tool matching, and Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R).
- Utilize advanced problem-solving techniques and expert knowledge to identify, investigate, eliminate, and prevent metrology excursions.
- Ensure that all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for analytical instrumentation are documented, accurate, and updated as necessary.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure analytical instrumentation and methods used for product qualification have been properly qualified prior to use.
- Lead the Management of Change (MOC) process in the QC labs when required.
Skills Required
- Minimum of 3 years working in a laboratory environment.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience running analytical instruments.
- In-depth knowledge of analytical techniques used for the characterization of trace impurities in chemicals.
- Experience managing, performing, and writing whitepapers for metrology studies, including instrument detection limit (IDL), method detection limit (MDL), accuracy, linearity, tool matching, and Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R).
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field highly preferred.
- Candidates with extensive lab experience may be considered.
Additional Requirements
- Shift: 9AM - 6PM
- Familiarity with SAP and advanced Excel skills would be beneficial.
