Job Description
This role is responsible for accurately estimating costs for capital projects, working closely with project managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to gather information and validate estimates.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed cost breakdown structures in alignment with the project's work breakdown structure (WBS)
- Prepare cost estimates using industry-standard techniques and software (e.g., Aspen Capital Cost Estimator)
- Communicate estimate basis to stakeholders to ensure transparency and understanding
- Determine appropriate contingency levels based on project phase and risk analysis
- Include allowances for known but undefined needs and accurately reflect them in the estimates
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in cost estimating for capital projects, preferably in brownfield projects in the chemical, oil and gas, or related industries
- Proficiency in cost estimating software (Aspen Capital Cost Estimator) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams)
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
