Overview
As a Cloud Engineer you will be part of a cross-matrixed team responsible as an individual contributor, bridging the gap between application development and IT operations teams by owning and driving cloud infrastructure, code deployments, continuous integration, and production support in an Agile Method.
Responsibilities
The Cloud Engineer will perform an operational and project support role for our Enterprise Platform. Responsibilities include automating everything possible, optimizing our stack for performance and fault tolerance, building out our logging and monitoring systems to identify bottlenecks and assist with troubleshooting and debugging, contributing to our devops strategy, platform analysis and optimization, and experimenting with and recommending new technologies to accomplish any of the above goals.
Qualifications
- 5 Years of experience on Infrastructure Provisioning using IAC like Cloud Formation, Terraform Pulimi, AWS CDK.
- 5 years of experience on Containers like Docker & LXC and Container Orchestration like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm.
- 5 years of experience on GitOps technology like Argo CD, Flux CD.
- Hands on experience on any Programming language like Python, Go, Rust, Ruby, JavaScript.
- Hands on experience on Infrastructure Monitoring tools like Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana, Zabbix, Datadog.
- Hands on experience on Application Monitoring like Splunk, Open Telemetry, App Dynamics, New relic, Instana
- Hands on experience on Log Management tools like Elastic Stack, Splunk, Gray log.
- Hands on experience on CI/CD tools – Gitlab CI & GitHub actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
- Hands on with any Cloud providers - AWS, AZURE, GCP, Heroku, Alibaba cloud.
- Hands on with OS like windows, Linux (RHEL/SUSE Linux, Ubuntu/Debian), Unix (Open BSD/Free BSD).
- Experience on script like PowerShell & bash and other concepts like Multiplier, Process monitoring, system performance, Network tools, Text manipulation & others.
- Experience on different OS concepts Networking, POSIX, Process, Sockets, Service Management startup management Threads & concurrency, I/O Management, Memory/storage, filesystem, Virtualization.
- Good understanding on Netw
- orking, Security and Protocols like OSI model, DNS, DHCP, protocol like HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SSH, Port forwarding, Emails (SMTP, IAMPS, PoP3S), Reverse & forward proxy, firewall, load balancer, caching server, webserver (Ngnix, Apache, Tomcat, IIS).
Good to have:
- Experience on Cloud security
- Experience on Configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet
- Experience on Service Mesh.
- Experience on Cloud Design Patterns like Data management, design& implementation, Management & monitoring & availability.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in a reputable University or closely related field or in the process of obtaining one.
