Overview
HireRight is looking for a Senior Product owner for our Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) team. The OSINT team believe in creating safe, trustworthy and inclusive communities and enables our customers to achieve this by providing the most accurate, fast, comprehensive and up to date insights of their current and future worker's digital presence. It is a strategic product team within the organization and their work powers the best background screening and monitoring business in the industry.
The Product Owner will play a key role in driving solutions for our criminal product line. He/she will be an integral part of the agile product team and work closely with Engineering, QA, product management and delivery managers to deliver high quality capabilities on time to help our customers.
Responsibilities
- Identifies, develops and drives product and application initiatives for the criminal product line
- Manages, prioritize and owns the user story backlog for his or her agile team.
- Contributes to all agile ceremonies including feature refinement, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release planning with the agile team
- Ensures customer validation of solutions by working with Product Management and key End Users.
- Coordinates trade-off and dependency analysis for team’s backlogs based on Product Management or Business priorities.
- Translate market requirements from Product Management into detail technical user stories ready for development
- Work closely with Product Managers and delivery managers to develop and launch new products and enhancements.
- Build trust with technical partners by demonstrating solid understanding of technologies, APIs, database, middleware and other technology constructs and be able to drive solutioning and technical conversations.
- Create and modify documentation to be used by HireRight and its partners and customers.
- Participate in technical conversations and can clearly articulate technical details of our APIs, products and applications to our customers and vendor partners.
- Write and help coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and test cases and/or execute test cases as needed. Develop PL/SQL queries for functional and integration testing to validate and verify product performance and functionality.
- Work with end users, architects, product managers and Software Engineering team members to propose innovative solutions as well as refine proposed solutions.
- Create application mock-ups to be used in technical requirement documentation.
- Communicate clearly and act as a liaison between the business end users, Product Managers and Software Development Teams.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of end user documents, training materials, and user demos
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in enterprise-level technical product/platform management role.
- Experience in working with Product Management and developing Engineering ready detail user stories.
- Exposure to agile methodology and prior experience working with agile teams and scrum ceremonies as a product owner.
- Experience managing and interacting with third party technology providers and establishing processes for staying in coordination with new releases.
- Experience developing mission-critical scalable enterprise software.
- Facilitative leadership experience as well as experience working in matrix and agile environment.
- Excellent interviewing, listening, observational, analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross functional teams across the organization.
- Preference of former technical role to include software engineering, business applications or quality assurance software testing.
- Background checks industry exposure a plus
Education:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field required.
- Certifications in Agile/Product owner preferred
