Job Summary
Seeking a seasoned and dynamic Director/VP of Purchasing & Estimating with experience in residential construction to lead the procurement efforts and ensure cost efficiency, quality assurance, and timely delivery of materials. This is a critical role, with responsibility for overseeing purchasing strategies, supplier relationships, and the overall supply chain process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Manage and negotiate supplier contracts to ensure quality, cost savings, and timely delivery of materials.
- Oversee the implementation of new purchasing & estimating software.
- Lead and mentor the purchasing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Analyze market trends to forecast material costs and availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction and design, to meet project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and company standards in procurement practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior purchasing role, ideally within the home building or residential construction industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., ERP systems)
Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain management or procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Strong understanding of logistics principles and inventory control methodologies.
- Experience with purchasing & estimating systems implementation is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships at all organizational levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $135,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
