What you will be doing :

  • Serve as legal adviser to the company and its affiliates globally.
  • Interpret laws and regulations; prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Render legal advice and counsel to executives, officers, management, and other employees.
  • Manage outside counsel and oversee litigation processes.
  • Review, negotiate, and draft contracts including customer, vendor, and service agreements.
  • Advise on the legal implications of anticipated policy and operational decisions.
  • Ensure company compliance with employment laws and requirements.
  • Prepare applications to acquire and maintain insurance coverage.
  • Develop and draft corporate policies to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate significant threatened or pending litigation, claims, and regulatory actions.
  • Maintain corporate books and records and prepare corporate minutes.
  • Stay current on significant litigation, laws, and regulations affecting the group companies.

    • Experience you will need :

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School in the U.S.
  • State Bar Admission in the U.S.
  • Minimum 2 years of transportation / logistics experience.
  • Maritime Law experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong interpersonal relationships and networking skills.
  • Commercial acumen and experience in business partnering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in transactional and / or B2B organizations is a plus.

    • Proficiency in MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
