Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team! In this role, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely test results that help healthcare providers determine patient care needs. As a strong generalist, you will be able to perform a variety of lab tasks and procedures, and be capable of handling microbiology readings (preferred) and phlebotomy when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic tests in microbiology, hematology, chemistry, blood banking, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood gases.
- Perform venous and arterial blood collection as needed.
- Analyze and deliver test results in a timely manner.
- Read microbiology results independently (preferred).
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate time-off requests.
- Participate in team collaboration and contribute positively to interpersonal interactions.
- Work effectively in STAT situations, ensuring excellent customer service and communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all tasks and interactions.
Requirements:
- Current ASCP certification.
- Ability to work across multiple lab areas with flexibility (microbiology, hematology, blood banking, etc.).
Schedule:
- Orientation: 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
- After training, this position will transition to a graveyard shift with a consistent schedule of 7 days on / 7 days off.
