Controller - Cost Accounting PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION CLOSELY BEFORE APPLYING. Our client is a well-established, growth-focused, electronic systems company that designs and manufactures products that save lives domestically and abroad. The preference here is to hire someone as an “Interim” Controller at first just to make sure the technical and cultural fit is strong. - Develops and implements corporate economic strategies and evaluates existing programs
- Creates financial reports analyzing business performance, including income forecasts, expenses, and earnings projections
- Manages cost accounting systems and oversees cost analysis activities
- Oversees budget preparation, conducts reviews, and manages documentation processes
- Advises on insurance coverage and provides regular financial status updates to management
- Establishes depreciation policies and provides tax-related guidance
- Coordinates external audits and prepares regulatory reports
- Maintains relationships with financial institutions
- Leads accounting department supervisory staff, providing strategic direction and performance evaluation
- Executes personnel management duties including hiring, workflow planning, and conflict resolutionEDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles and methodologies required
- Experience working in manufacturing is preferred (defense or aerospace is a plus, but not required)
