Job Description
Audio Visual Estimator – DFW Area
We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Estimator for one of the TOP commercial AV integrators in the DFW area. This role is responsible for calculating the total cost of AV projects by analyzing project specifications, determining required equipment and materials, estimating labor costs, and sourcing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. The estimator will develop detailed proposals to effectively communicate project value.
Key Responsibilities :
Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and RFP documents
Conduct site surveys, bid meetings, and discovery sessions
Determine and price AV equipment, materials, and labor costs
Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
Develop comprehensive project proposals, including scope of work and cost breakdowns
Assess cost factors related to site location and project conditions
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to optimize estimates
Complete bidder forms, proposal templates, and documentation for submission
Present cost estimates and strategy to leadership and stakeholders
Participate in project kick-off meetings upon award
Maintain accurate tracking of estimates and revisions
Requirements
Required Qualifications :
- AVIXA CTS certification (CTS-D is a plus)
- 5 years of experience in AV estimation, preferably with a commercial AV integrator
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, standards, and building codes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Experience with cost estimating software and tools
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines

Job Requirements : Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with QCS controls, Biamp, Audio DSP, Shure and Intelix. Great to have : AVPro Edge and Visionary Solutions for VoIP / switchers Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with AV equipment Advanced knowledge of TCP / IP networking, switches, routers, firewalls are preferred. Advanced working knowledge of computers (Windows-based) and software. Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and embrace a team-centric environment. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including product specifications, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive customer inquiries or complaints. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Valid driver’s license with minimum 3-year clean driving record. Infocomm CTS certification (within 6 months of employment start) & CTS-I within 12 months Maintain and / or acquire OSHA 10 Hr construction within 3 months from employment start.
