Job Description:
The Fund Accountant is responsible for providing specialized accounting support for commingled investment portfolios. Utilizing advanced fund accounting technology, this role focuses on key aspects of net asset value (NAV) execution, including transactions, capital stock, expenses, corporate actions, cash management, and special handling, as well as break identification and resolution. The Fund Accountant ensures all daily accounting deliverables are accurate and timely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for derivative valuation inquiries.
- Verify financial information and escalate problem items as needed.
- Manage daily transaction volume and ensure adherence to quality and timeliness standards.
- Monitor and resolve accounting discrepancies, including cash breaks and reconciliation issues.
- Ensure team deadlines and departmental requirements are consistently met.
- Maintain daily production reports and track progress against key metrics.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve outstanding issues.
- Follow up on open inquiries and ensure timely resolution.
- Contribute to management reporting, including Clarity, PVCs, past dues, cash breaks, and risk & audit analysis.
- Understand the broader impact of accounting functions on the firm’s overall operations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, escalate, and resolve issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work U.S. holidays and overtime as necessary.
