As a Senior Structural Designer, you will play a key role in leading and overseeing the structural design process for our residential and commercial projects. It is essential for the candidate to have an active Florida Professional Engineering license. Our residential and commercial projects typically involve wood framed residential houses of 1 to 2 stories along with Block (CMU) construction for Residential and Commercial buildings under 10,000 square feet and 3 stories.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the structural design process, including conceptual design, detailed calculations, and preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior design staff, ensuring the quality and accuracy of their work.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions that meet project requirements and comply with building codes and regulations.
- Conduct thorough structural analyses, including load calculations, seismic evaluations, and wind resistance assessments.
- Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications prepared by the design team.
- Ensure that projects are completed within budget and on schedule, maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing structures, identify potential risks or issues, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, design codes, and technological advancements in structural engineering.
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical expertise and recommendations as needed.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Active Florida Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of [4] years of experience in structural design for residential and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000) and familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes.
- 2 Years of AutoCAD experience.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, analysis methods, and construction practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing design projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
