Position Overview:

The Optometrist is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of vision problems and eye diseases within the scope of licensure. This role involves direct patient care and educating patients on visual hygiene and eye safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Examine eyes using observation, instruments, and pharmaceutical agents to determine visual acuity, perception, focus, and coordination.
• Prescribe medications to treat eye diseases as state law permits.
• Prescribe, supply, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
• Analyze test results and develop treatment plans.
• Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, and eye safety.
• Remove foreign bodies from the eye when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Unrestricted license from the State of Washington to practice optometry - Required
• Valid driver's license and insurable under the company's liability coverage for company vehicle travel - Required
• Frequent travel to various clinic sites may be needed - Required
• Optometry License
