THE ROLE
We are seeking a Sr. Procurement Manager to collaborate with corporate procurement, key stakeholders, and teams across the company to manage capital projects and large spend activities. The ideal candidate will drive cost-effective purchasing, vendor management, and contract evaluation, ensuring timely and efficient procurement of equipment, products, and services. They will also be responsible for negotiating cost savings, supporting business growth, and working closely with the Sr. Director of Procurement to align resources with market needs.
This is a hybrid role with some onsite work in Addison, IL.WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead full-cycle procurement activities for Capital, Special Projects, and related spend categories, ensuring the alignment of procurement strategies with organizational goals.

Manage the Capital & Special Projects sourcing process, including the creation and execution of RFI/RFPs, working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate those into sourcing strategies.

Identify opportunities for cost savings, process efficiency, and supplier optimization, while driving initiatives that support financial objectives without compromising quality or service.

Lead complex supplier negotiations, develop strategic plans, and build strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve cost-effective, timely procurement solutions.

Supervise and develop direct reports, ensuring team alignment with procurement goals and promoting internal growth and skill development.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, to ensure smooth procurement operations, resolve issues, and manage purchase order tracking for on-time delivery.

Optimize procurement processes and drive supplier performance management by developing key performance indicators (KPIs), tracking compliance, and reporting on spend and supplier performance.

Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the ERP system, supporting procurement initiatives, creating purchase orders, and ensuring seamless integration of procurement activities with broader business operations.

Monitor and resolve procurement disruptions, ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services while mitigating potential risks and issues.

Support global sourcing strategies, balancing cost, risk, and production needs to drive optimal sourcing decisions.
WHAT YOU WILL LIKELY NEED

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, materials management, engineering, or a related field.

8 years of significant experience in procurement within industries like cannabis, manufacturing, or CPG, with at least 5 years in a related procurement or sourcing role.

Expertise in full-cycle procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.

Proven ability to identify and execute cost reduction strategies, improve procurement processes, and develop supplier performance management programs.

Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple procurement initiatives simultaneously.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems, including purchase order creation and procurement reporting.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and with external suppliers.

Ability to think critically and make sound business judgments related to strategic sourcing and procurement decisions.

High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality, particularly when dealing with sensitive vendor or business information.
