Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment to assist in the evaluation of patients' health. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations on patients as per physician orders, ensuring the highest quality of images for diagnostic purposes.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviate concerns, and ensure comfort during examinations.
- Maintain knowledge of medical imaging techniques and advancements in sonography to provide accurate diagnostic information.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and contribute to patient care plans.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and safety protocols during all procedures to ensure patient safety and prevent infection.
- Document patient information, examination results, and any relevant medical history accurately in the medical records.
- Stay current with medical terminology related to sonography, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Ultrasonographer or in a similar role within a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to sonography.
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and performing various types of ultrasound examinations, including Ob/Gyn procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
- Familiarity with diagnostic radiology practices is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification from an accredited ultrasound program is required; ARDMS certification is highly desirable.
