Hourly Range: $18.00 - $22.00
Salary Range: $37,440 - $45,760
The CMA or RMA is a key role in our practice. This individual will create a strong first impression for our patients and ensure they feel cared for by our team. The CMA/RMAwill prepare patients for the doctor’s evaluation, assist clinical providers with examinations, obtain and document vital signs, collect medical and social history, and update electronic medical records (EMR).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist professional nursing staff by providing direct patient care.
- Prepare charts, take temperature, pulse, perform screenings, measure blood pressure, respiration, and other assigned tasks.
- Assist physicians by maintaining practice workflow, organizing exam rooms, ordering supplies, and performing screenings, blood draws, and point-of-care (POC) testing as directed.
- Follow instructions closely and report patient reactions and symptoms to treatments.
- Ensure timely appointments and reduce patient wait times.
- Schedule initial evaluations, follow-ups, and cancellations accurately.
- Conduct professional appointment reminder calls with appropriate language and tone.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills to foster positive patient and staff relationships.
- Prioritize tasks and complete responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies.
- Obtain and enter patient history, chief complaints, and medication lists into the EMR.
- Assist with office duties such as answering phones, faxing, filing, and greeting patients.
- Maintain exam/procedure rooms, restock supplies, and ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as requested by providers, coordinators, and management.
- Enhance practice reputation by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 6 months required; 2 years preferred in a medical office.
- Skills: Familiarity with EKG, Phlebotomy, and Patient Care.
- Certification: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification required.
- CPR Certification: Required.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with pre-authorizations and referrals.
- Certifications: BLS certification required.
