Job Summary

The Machine Design Engineer will utilize CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) to develop and support manufacturing processes by creating layouts, detailed drawings, assembly diagrams, and technical sketches. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with engineering principles, and proficiency in mathematical calculations . The engineer will ensure all designs meet manufacturability standards, tolerance requirements, and engineering best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Mechanical Design of Automated Equipment (85%)

• Utilize SolidWorks CAD software to create and revise detailed production drawings, assembly layouts, and technical schematics .
• Conduct tolerance stack analyses to determine proper manufacturing tolerances.
• Design mechanical components and systems, ensuring alignment between materials, functionality, and manufacturability .
• Develop and maintain an organized database for engineering drawings and documentation.
• Interpret technical specifications, engineering calculations, and customer requirements to ensure design accuracy.
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Sales, and Manufacturing .
• Work with vendors, customers, and internal teams in design and project review meetings.
• Troubleshoot fluid power circuits and ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, CE, CSA, etc.) .
• Collaborate with the controls team for safety component selection and system safety compliance.
• Implement ISO 9001 standards and follow documented engineering procedures.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced engineering environment.
