Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial obligations by processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software to maintain accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Maintain the general ledger by posting entries and reconciling discrepancies.
- Assist in corporate accounting tasks, including month-end close activities.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage and Kronos for efficient processing of accounts payable transactions.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices or payments.
- Support benefits administration and HRIS functions as needed, ensuring accurate record-keeping for employee-related expenses.
- Prepare reports on accounts payable activities for management review.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role within corporate accounting.
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Sage and Kronos, is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Proficient in technical accounting practices and able to adapt to new systems quickly.
- Strong communication skills to interact with vendors and internal stakeholders professionally.
