The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing Hirschbach’s hybrid infrastructure, including Azure cloud services, on-premise technologies (VMware, V7000), and enterprise backup and telephony systems. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of systems critical to business operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-driven professional capable of taking full ownership of the environment and driving improvements across systems, connectivity, backups, and telephony.

What You Will Be Doing
System Administration & Infrastructure Management
- Administer, monitor, and optimize systems across both Azure cloud and on-prem environments.
- Manage VMware vSphere clusters, virtual machines, snapshots, templates, and V7000 storage.
- Maintain and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows Server environments.
- Oversee Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Entra ID configurations and policies.
- Maintain hybrid connectivity between Azure and on-premise environments.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering to support connectivity and network health. Assist with basic troubleshooting of access or performance issues.
- Administer the 8x8 enterprise telephony platform, including number provisioning, user setup, and call flow configurations.
- Own and manage enterprise backup and recovery operations using Rubrik.
- Configure, monitor, and optimize backup jobs for cloud and on-prem systems.
- Define and enforce retention, RPO, and RTO policies.
- Perform routine test restores and support recovery operations when needed.
- Ensure backup compliance and readiness for disaster recovery scenarios
- Apply OS-level patches and system hardening policies to maintain a secure baseline.
- Monitor system logs and endpoint vulnerability reports, escalating critical findings.
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to support audits and incident response, as needed.
- Respond to infrastructure-related incidents, alerts, and requests in a timely manner.
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and runbooks.
- Partner with Technology, Security, and Support teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Clearly communicate technical issues and project updates to both technical and non- technical audiences.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to implement and optimize infrastructure solutions.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong experience with VMware, Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and networking fundamentals.
- Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot enterprise backup systems, Rubrik experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with V7000 storage, hybrid AD environments, and cloud telephony platforms (8x8 or similar).
- Scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI) is a plus.
- Ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues and implement practical, long-term solutions.
- Experience performing root cause analysis and proactive system monitoring
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when supporting internal teams.
