KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Warehouse/Inventory Supervisor is responsible for maintaining reliable inventory to support Production and Shipping needs. This position is responsible for warehouse facilities and inventory at all Pemberville locations and coordinates with the Supply Chain Planner for storage and movement needs to support operations. This position works closely with Plant and Corporate Management to support business functions. Responsibilities would include work order generation, reporting, inventory verification, planning, training, and evaluation of systems. The warehouse supervisor will supervise and continuously improve all shipping and receiving, labeling, equipment, and building aspects.Be a hands-on leader serving and motivating warehouse personnel by leading by example and fostering a positive team-building atmosphere
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
RECEIVING
- Review expected receiving schedules to plan for appropriate put-away locations of materials dependent on use and storage space available, and appropriateness of the quality of the storage.
- Oversee the receipt of purchased materials into inventory, proper and accurate marking of units and capture of lot codes.
- Communicate with the Sourcing Department any issues with receipt accuracy, timeliness, and quality of products. Help resolve discrepancies.
WORK ORDER MANAGEMENT
- Consult with the Production Supervisor, Plant Manager and Supply Chain Manager to generate work orders dependent on the published production schedule.
- Schedule label production to meet needs of current and forecasted sales. Create and report work orders for this operation
- Develop mechanisms to improve reporting accuracy of materials consumed, and train users on the proper methods of movement and storage of ingredients and materials.
- Report consumption of ingredients, packaging, dunnage, and recipes against work orders, and balance out inventories after consumption
- Work with Supply Chain Planner and Production Supervisor to define upcoming shortages and stay ahead of needs
- Continuous improvement and updating of routing instructions by product to capture formulation notes and make routing pertinent to the production of the products
- Update routing labor assignments to better reflect actual production activities and match work station/labor reporting
INVENTORY CONTROL
- Keep viable inventory in front of the shipping department for filing orders. This would include:
- Working with Quality Assurance in managing reserved lot codes for customers and releasing appropriate lots when necessary
- Process QRC inventory with Quality Assurance and clear any product on hold or moved to QHP status for work into internal production
- Keep managed inventory in orderly storage and off-line counts maintained for the items
- Keep LAS locations clean and free of incorrectly scanned units Develop strategies to prevent errors.
- Develop and maintain site storage plan to match movement patterns of all items
- Work with Supply Chain Planner to plan for intersite movements
- Seasonal storage and transportation strategy
- Define min/max guidelines to assist in production and storage
- Manage cycle count on all stock according to a defined schedule. Investigate inaccuracies and recommend improvement to prevent future inaccuracy
- Participate in Supply Chain Planning group to stay current on activity of related departments
- Assure products, labels and supplies are rotated to keep stock current (FIFO)
- Manage requirements for USDA bids. Arrange for and assist grader in sampling. Assure proper codes are used in labeling and shipping through clear communication. Prepare COLs for loads shipping.
FACILITY MANAGEMENT
- Monitor condition of facility and equipment at South and College Warehouses and arrange for repairs as needed. This will include, but not limited to: docks, doors, lighting, heat, alarms, heating and ventilation, grounds, roofs, forklifts, lifts, floor scrubbers
- Arrange with Plant Manager regular and periodic cleaning and maintenance to keep the facility in good condition.
- Assist Plant Manager and Quality Manager with any audits

REPORTS TO THIS POSITION

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Supply Chain or Business field and 2-5 years experience in a supervisory role
- 2 – 4 years experience with inventory control
- 2 – 4 years of consistent forklift experience in a warehouse setting
- Spreadsheet proficiency preferably with Google Sheets
- Ability to create verbal, numeric, and graphical reports
