What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Infant Assistant Teacher position at His Ark?
We are seeking a loving, patient, and flexible individual to join our youngest infant classroom. Hours for this position would be 10:00am - 6:00 pm. If wanting part time, shift could be adjusted to 12:00pm to 6:00 pm.
His Ark Assistant Teacher
His Ark is both childcare and preschool, with children ranging in age from infants to 12 years. Our curriculum is integrated throughout the day and is developmentally appropriate for each classroom. Our thematic units run 52 weeks of the year and include opportunities for field trips, events, parent involvement, and teacher creativity.
Our teachers are responsible for leading the mission of the center, “To provide a safe harbor where all can grow in Jesus.”
In an Assistant Teacher, we look for a committed individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children and their families, while effectively and efficiently supporting all daily activities in the classroom. Assistant Teachers fulfill an integral part of our classroom by helping to support the Lead Teacher as well as creating consistency in the classroom environment when the Lead Teacher is absent for the day.
Assistant Teacher duties include, but are not limited to:
· To work cooperatively with Lead Teachers to provide for all aspects of care for children in their classroom
· To help facilitate developmentally appropriate lesson plans & activities each day, including incorporation of our One in Christ curriculum.
· Develop relationships with parents through open communication and encourage active involvement in the classroom
· Creating a warm and nurturing environment for the children.
· Interact with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
· Assist Lead Teachers in tasks.
· Model Christian behaviors and principals within the classroom at all times
Required Skills and Experience:
· Ability to be part of a TEAM environment, communicating with peers as necessary to meet the needs of the children in our care
· A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
· Must pass all required state and federal agency background checks
· Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
· Demonstrate values and behaviors that align with the Christian faith while caring for the children of His Ark, interacting with parents/family members, and representing His Ark CCDC.
